Last Saturday was Mike's birthday and we spent the day at Six Flags in Maryland (just a short 25 minute drive from our house!). The weather was perfect, not too hot and it only sprinkled a little bit in the evening.
The highlight of the day was definitely riding both the Bat Wing and Superman - Ride of Steel back to back TWICE! In the evening we were given the chance to stay an extra 2 hours (8-10pm) and rode the 2 HUGE roller coasters without even having to leave our seats in between run throughs!
I got to have my picture taken with a number of the Looney Tunes characters including Sylvester the Cat (my car's namesake), Daffy Duck and one of the stars of DC Comics: Batman himself!
Even though the weather was quite pleasant, by the time the afternoon hit we were starting to feel a bit hot and sticky to boot (I'm still adjusting to the "muggy" weather of DC and the east coast in general). To cool off we hopped on the Nantucket Falls water ride and got a LOT wetter than we bargained for. The pictures below will give you an idea of the size of the wave and the amount of water that comes crashing down on you as you slide down the hill and travel under the bridge. But oh was it refreshing!
