In February I turned my three day weekend in a four day weekend, and Mike and I kicked it off with a trip to the Mall and a sightseeing tour of the monuments in the snow. At some points we had to forge our own path, but it was a fun adventure!
We started in the middle of the Mall, between the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building, and made our way through the thigh high snow towards the Lincoln Memorial. Skirting around the Washington Monument and the World War II Memorial, we came across a beautifully, frozen-over reflecting pool. After a quick stop into the Lincoln Memorial, we continued on our way along the Vietnam War Memorial and then out onto Constitution Avenue towards the White House. All in all a great walk (despite the cold) and a fun experience in the snow.
